On this day, Chhattisgarh state Chhattisgarh was established by separating 16 districts from the state of Madhya Pradesh . Madhya Pradesh borders with the borders of five states. It is bounded on the north by Uttar Pradesh , on the east by Chhattisgarh , on the south by Maharashtra , on the west by Gujarat , and on the northwest by Rajasthan .


The state's GDP growth rate has been above the national average in recent years.


Rich in mineral resources, Madhya Pradesh has the largest reserves of diamonds and copper. More than 30% of its area is under forest cover. Its tourism industry has grown significantly. The state won the National Tourism Award for the year 2010-11.


Madhya Pradesh is also mainly known for its tourism. Maheshwar Mandaleshwar, Choli, Bhimbethka, Panchvati, Khajuraho, Sanchi Stupa, Gwalior Fort, and Ujjain Rewa Waterfalls are the prime examples of tourist destinations in Madhya Pradesh. The Swatantra East Madhya Pradesh region was quite different from its present form. Then it was divided into 3-4 parts. In 1950, Madhya Pradesh was first formed in association with the princely states of Chhattisgarh and Makarai in Madhya Pradesh and Berar . Then its capital was in Nagpur . After this, the states of Central India, Vindhya Pradesh and Bhopal were also merged on 1 November 1956, while the Marathi-speaking Vidarbha region of the south (including the capital Nagpur) was transferred to the state of Bombay. Earlier, Jabalpur was being marked as the state capital, but in the last moments, this decision was overturned and declared Bhopal as the new capital of the state. Which used to be a tehsil of Sehore district . Madhya Pradesh was once again reorganized on 1 November 2000, and ChhattisgarhIt was separated from Madhya Pradesh and became the 24th state of India .
